ABOUT JAMES

James E. Tyson II is a husband, father, pastor, speaker, and author who has dedicated his life to empowering individuals and communities through purpose-driven leadership, transformational teaching, and Kingdom-centered living. Known for his clarity of vision and commitment to excellence, James is passionate about helping others rediscover their identity and align with their original design.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a Certificate in Leadership from Youngstown State University. He later completed a Master of Divinity from Wesley Seminary and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry, reflecting his ongoing commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning.

In November 2015, James married his best friend and partner in life, Desiree Tyson. Together, they are the proud parents of three children: Caden Shawn, Kristen Valerie, and Jasiah James Tyson.

James is the author of two generationally impactful books, Treasures of a Worshipper and Genesis, which explore the intersections of purpose, faith, and personal transformation.​

 

He currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Christ Church Apostolic in Indianapolis, Indiana—a life-giving ministry committed to reflecting Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. Under his leadership, the church is driven by a clear mission: Create Community, Cultivate Purpose, and Commission Disciples.

This mission mirrors James’ calling—to help others live with clarity, intention, and impact. Through his leadership, writing, and teaching, he equips people from all walks of life to grow, lead, and thrive.
